Where to start? It’s always the hardest part of the blog. Figuring out the title and working it in a way that the SEO gods condone. So here I am on a Saturday night relaxing on my couch watching Family Guy with the Mayor and our puppies contemplating where to start. Before I showered, I rewatched Rocketman, which is a fabulous movie. This time I could sing along with the movie outlook because Delta typically frowns on that during flight.

Today was a good day. I started the day off with a solid run on the treadmill and a dose of Larry David. Season 10 of Curb does not disappoint. The first five minutes of the run were arduous, but it got better as the run progressed. Fortunately, my legs and hips are feeling pretty pretty good after running four times this week. Although it could be a different story tomorrow, so stay tuned. I didn’t, however, achieve much on the domestic front today. Hopefully, my hubby will bury his head int he proverbial sand and not notice.

After my run, the Mayor and I drove up to Bethesda West to watch the F-16 flyover. I’ve always loved fighter jets and seeing the airmen flyover reminds me on mine. Needless to say my heart is filled with pride. Not surprisingly, the parking lot was absolutely jammed packed with people watching the flyover. Fortunately, everyone I saw was wearing masks and being prudent. However, perhaps the most surprising part of the day came as we left the parking lot. Are you ready for it?!? People left the parking lot with respect and politeness. I nearly had a heart attack. Truly, it was an uplifting experience.

We went home and had some quick lunch. I made my coffee quick before heading down to Mel’s to drop off a Mother’s Day present for her mom and a book. Initially, it was going to be a drop and go. Fortunately for me, it turned into a nice visit where we were practicing crow pose and warrior 3. At any rate, it was definitely a bright spot on my day. After the visit, I cooked up another great Blue Apron meal. Today’s meal was hot honey chicken. It was awesome, but unfortunately I was the only one that thought so.

Unfortunately, today also brought some terrible news and prayers are needed urgently. Goalielocks’ friend was in a major ATV accident last evening involving a fifty foot fall into a mine shaft. Due to the pandemic, he’s still out west where he was playing tier 1 hockey. His parents are here in Florida. At this time, he’s in a medically induced coma with serious internal injuries. By a miracle of god, he did not suffer serious head trauma. Nonetheless, he faces a long recovery far from home. Please pray for his continued recovery, his doctors wisdom, and for strength and peace of mind for his parents.
